A brassy, comic musical about contemporary dating, I Love You Because explores the lives of four New Yorkers who navigate the minefield of love in the big city. Austin Bennet, a young greeting card writer, has his life turned upside down when he finds his long-term girlfriend Catherine is cheating on him. He is forced back out into the treacherous dating scene by his kooky brother Jeff, and naturally, things don’t go as planned. Underscored by fun and witty music, this contemporary musical is a modern twist on Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and delves into the highs and lows of love, friendship and everything in between.
