Considered one of the best murder mysteries ever written, And Then There Were None is based on Agatha Christie’s best-selling novel. Ten strangers, apparently with little in common, are lured to an island mansion by a mysterious couple. Over dinner, a record begins to play, and the voice of an unseen host accuses each person of hiding a guilty secret. That evening, one of the guests is found murdered by a deadly dose of cyanide. The tension escalates as the survivors realize the killer is not only among them but is preparing to strike again… and again… and again.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Tina Thronson is a 20-year veteran member of Providence Players, a past president and is directing PPF’s first mainstage production of the 2019-2020 season, And Then There Were None. Tina has also directed PPF productions, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Twelve Angry Men, Dinner with Friends, Steel Magnolias, and The Laramie Project. She has played other roles onstage and off. This includes acting roles in The Women, The Skin of Our Teeth, A Christmas Carol, Saturday Sunday Monday, Twelfth Night, and Side Man.

“I confess … I am a big fan of Murder.
Okay – of murder mysteries – on the written page and on TV. Arguably the greatest murder mystery author is Agatha Christie – so you could say that Miss Marple inspired me to direct And Then There Were None. No, Miss Marple does not make an appearance but her zeal for justice permeates the play. She was deeply troubled by the innate cruelty of taking a life and profoundly offended by the arrogant belief that some killers have that they will get away with it.
Do the characters in this play “get away with it”? We shall see. But I love the challenge of recreating this famous tale of ten people trapped on an island – with a killer. There are directorial challenges, which I relish, there is the pleasure of working with excellent actors and, ultimately, I am directing And Then There Were None because it is by Agatha Christie and I am convinced that audiences will love it.”
